Privacy Policy

Last Wallet is a personal finance app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have over it — in plain language, not buried in legal text.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and any name you provide, and we store a securely hashed credential (or, if you sign in with a third-party provider, the identifier that provider gives us) so we can authenticate you.

Financial data you enter. Accounts, transactions, transfers, categories, tags, notes, templates, and any files you import (CSV/XLS) or attach. This is the data the app exists to help you manage, and it is yours.

Data from integrations you set up. If you create a developer API key and connect a third-party automation tool (such as Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or Apple Shortcuts), or forward a bank SMS or email for AI-assisted parsing, we process the content you send us to create draft transactions. Automated entries wait in a review queue and never affect your balances until you approve them.

Usage and device data. Basic technical data such as IP address, browser or app version, device type, and request logs, used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the app across web and mobile.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To sync your data across your devices and generate the dashboards, reports, and analytics you ask for.
  • To process automations you explicitly configure (API integrations, forwarded messages for AI-assisted drafts).
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To send you service-related communications (e.g. security alerts, password resets). We do not send marketing email without your consent.

We do not sell your personal or financial data, and we do not use your financial data to serve you ads.

3. How we protect your data

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, and access to production systems is restricted to what is needed to operate the service. Every request is scoped to your account — your data is never visible to other users. We take regular, automatic backups so a lost device or a fresh install never means losing your financial history.

4. Where your data is stored

Last Wallet is online-only: your data is stored in our managed Postgres database and served through our API, not on a shared or unencrypted server. We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

5. Your rights and choices

  • Export. Export your data to CSV at any time — no lock-in, no waiting period, no support ticket required.
  • Correction. Update your account details and financial records directly in the app at any time.
  • Deletion. Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. We will delete it, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.
  • Access. Ask us what data we hold about you.

6. Third-party service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service — for example, hosting/compute, database, and transactional email delivery — and, where you opt in to AI-assisted transaction parsing, an AI provider to turn forwarded text into draft transactions. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality obligations, and never for their own purposes.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The web app uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children’s privacy

Last Wallet is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. International users

Your data may be processed and stored in a country other than the one you live in. Wherever it is processed, we apply the same protections described in this policy.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
